Mom

To keep with the theme the family I’m going to write about my mom. Like most preteen and high school girls I fought with my mom probably everyday from the age of thirteen till I left for school in August. We fought about my hair, what I wore to school, who I was getting rides from, grades, and every other little thing you could think of. Sometimes I remember that I would get so mad at her…..and now that I look back on it I’m so thankful that she was not my best friend, she was my mom. Through she showed me just how much she loved me. It’s funny now to see my little brother go through it…. he is boy of course and his middle school years have been way different, but they fight about the same stuff my mom and I did, and it just seems like a unavoidable thing. Mom’s love us so much they want everything to be just right. I am also one of those girls who told my mom everything….it’s probably also because she could always tell when I lied. Even though I don’t live at home anymore she has become my best friend, although she will still put me in line on the phone.

Carolyn, I absoulutely know where you are coming from. However, I considered my mom one of my best friends when I lived at home as well. She is so straight forward and honesy about things with me which is exactly how my best friends are. I never kept anything from my mom. Probably out of respect more than anything. But by telling her everything she was basically fine wuth everything... she trusted me. -Carly
